Philadelphia Police Officer Gary Skerski, IGAPA Member, was fatally wounded May 8, 2006. The Beef & Beer to benefit the Family of Officer Gary Skerski on June 24, 2006 hosted by the 15th Police District at Cannstatter V.V. was a great success. A lot of money was raised for the Skerski family. Click here for photo. Donations in his memory can be sent to St. Adalbert's School, 3236 Edgemont Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134. Officer Skerski and his partner were responding to a robbery in progress inside Pat's Cafe, near Arrott Street and Adams Avenue, a Frankford neighborhood bar. He was shot in the neck. Skerski, 46, who was married with two children, a teenage son and a younger daughter, had been assigned to the 15th Police District. |
